WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF ONLINE THERAPY?

Online therapy is an excellent way to get fully effective treatment from a distance. The thought of traveling to an office to meet someone out of your comfort zone can certainly feel intimidating. If that gets in the way, let’s take it out of the equation. I want people to receive help in a way that facilitates success.

  • Receive help when you need it - online therapy is available even when life feels busy. Make the most of your time and integrate healing into your schedule.

HOW DOES ONLINE THERAPY WORK?

Online counseling works much the same way as in-person therapy. We will schedule an appointment, meet in the virtual ‘office’, and begin. I use a secure video conferencing software to protect our privacy. I prefer to utilize video chat so that I can attune to your body language and you can see that I am fully engaged.

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS

It’s about creating a space to heal…

  • Even though you may be in the comfort of your own home, it is still important to find a time and space that feels confidential. You need to be able to say whatever is on your mind and in your heart without worry of being overheard. Please keep this in mind when scheduling an appointment.
  • The video sessions are also possible on a smartphone or tablet. That requires you to download an app, but it's easy. If that helps find a quiet space, then it's a good idea.
  • Sometimes it is best to meet in person for the first session. If you prefer that, I am happy to accommodate. It can build a connection so that you feel more comfortable moving forward online.
  • It's very helpful to have some headphones! That not only helps protect privacy, but also reduces noise feedback. Please have headphones ready before every session.
  • Intake paperwork, scheduling, and billing occur online through a secure client portal regardless on in-person or online counseling.
